Bog oak pulls and bar handles – hole spacing, length and pairing with metal
A pull is your daily contact with a piece of furniture. In bog oak it gains the warmth of wood – and, combined with metal and minerals, the character of a piece of jewellery.
Hole spacing
Hole spacing is the distance between the centres of the two fixing holes, given in millimetres. Common values are multiples of 32 mm, such as 96, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256 or 320 mm. If you are replacing old pulls, measure from centre to centre – we will make the new pull to fit the existing holes, with no new drilling.
Pull length and the front
Many designers use a simple rule: a pull about one third of the drawer width looks balanced. On very wide drawers and kitchen islands, long bar handles create a calm horizontal line.
Bog oak and metal
- Brass – feet or end caps, brushed or polished.
- Graphite and black – for minimalist interiors.
- Inlay – a strip of amber or minerals set into the back of the pull.
Kitchens and high-use areas
In a kitchen, easy cleaning matters. Smooth, closed surfaces – finished wood and inserts under a resin layer – do not trap dirt in gaps. We choose the finish to suit where the pull will work.
